Hi Everybody! I'm Sheratan. I was born on march 1972 and started the Roleplaying Game adventure late in 1988. Before Roleplaying Game, I was particularly sensitive to Fantasy and drawing. I wrote my first book for me when I was fourteen years old. This book was the basis fot what would be my creation : Aventures Arcanes. I live in France and my nickname comes from Champion Superheroes. For your consideration, Sheratan is the brightest star of the Ram constellation (not my Zodiacal Sign)!
Drawing & Painting
I've ever been scribbling without being a prodigy. I really start working when I was sixteen and nowadays, I think I can always improve my art! Even if I can be reproached a particular style of drawing, all my friends (and they are numerous, over 500) agree that my art is recognizablee. A Sheratan's drawing can't be confused with someone else's art and that's the best compliment that I can receive. I've got my own style and nobody said that I plagiarize somebody's art and that's the point : I think that numerous drawers draw like somebody else, without any style or particularity and that's a pity!
I like to draw emotional fantasy (warning! emotional doesn't mean erotic, even if I can do so!). Alas, I never managed to keep anyone because all my friends claim for them. However, you will only find Aventures Arcanes' species drawings on this site but you will see under some of my other art..
I can draw cartoons (My Roleplaying couneselors hate me when I do that!) but I prefer estheticism, sketching beauty rather than fun, beauty which is not only physical but also in the expressions.
Sheratan may be the most significant Character I never had. I hope you'll live as marvellous adventures as me. I always tried to apply what's behind him when I played him.
Technics
Charcoal and Lead Pencil
That's my favourite style and my friends always told me that I can render magnificent effects with charcoals. I generally draw 21x29,7 cm, 24x32 cm and 50x65 cm shetches. I don't possess my charcoals sketches anymore, because I used to offer them. This style is perfect to give an emotional dimension to a Character. A Player Character drawn with lead pencil will be dynamic and with charcoals, he'll be more romantic. Colour
Pencils
Associated wrongly with children, professional colour pencils possess however great expressive quality. Nevertheless, this is a hard technic which requires time. But the results are very satisfying. JMy first drafts for Aventures Arcaneswere realized with Faber-Castell and Rexel Cumberland Colour Pencils. For a Player Character, Colour Pencils allow a realistic and tonic rendering . Watercolours
and Ink
Technic that I usually use, it is quiet different from the classical acrylic and oil technics. Light and transparency effects are perfect with those materials. I use indifferently pure inks or enlightened after drying with colour pencils. All my paintings for Aventures Arcanes are done with inks and watercolours since 1999. Writing
I proudly wrote a novel for Aventures Arcanes where the action takes place in the world I've been creating during seventeen years. I will be edited in october 2004, but in french only. I've created a webpage about this novel and part of it can be downloaded, but it's in french only! (I hope it'll be translated one day!!!)
