Warhammer™

Warhammer takes place in an imaginary world with a technological development between High Middle-Age and  Renaissance, and that's very original. When they creta their Character, Players choose a "career planning". This "career planning" includes many "professions". When the Character has reached  all the required skills and levels, his profession his achieved and he can continue with the next one by paying experience points  The great "career plannings" are Rogue, Well-read, Warrior and so forth. The great originality of Warhammer is toi allow a Character to change of "career planning" during his life. A warrior can become a sorcerer. However, it costs a prohibitive amount of experience points. The rando system is a percentage system based upon a 100-sided dice. During fights, hits are located in different part of the body. To locate a hit, you just have to invert the dice of successful hit (for instance 25 becomes 52, 73 becomes 37 and so forth).

The most famous consequence of Warhammer remains the strategic board game "Warhammer 40000".

Our Opinion

Advantages :

The main advantage of Warhammer is the freedom you feel when you can change of profession. Skills and Spells are very progressive and that's a great pleasure to feel the Character evolving.

Defects :

The major defect of Warhammer is the very high mortality rates of beginner Characters. Moreover, every experience costs are very high, and according to the rules, it's difficult to see the difference between a Character who played one scenario and another who played fifteen.  Another problem is that the world is too Manichaean but contrary to Starwars which is based upon a struggle Evil versus Good, the main struggle in Warhammer opposes Chaos against Order.
