Star Wars™
Thrilling and rich universe, It was logical that during the 80's, a Roleplaying Game was born on the theme of "Star Wars". We will deal here with the first edition which was played with a six-sided dices system instead of the last edition which is based upon a twenty-sided dices system. The players can create their Character upon archetypes such as Smuggler, bounty hunter, Wookie, failed Jedi, retired senator but can also create their own Character in less than five minutes. The random system depends on a number of six-sided dices depending of the characteristics or skills of the Character. The Player rolls the dices and adds the results of each and then, the Game Master compare the results with a predetermined level or with it's own roll for a Non-Player Character.
Our Opinion
Advantages :
The main advantage of Star Wars is the world illustrated by the visual support of Geoges Lucas' films. Who never saw Star Wars indeed? The rule system is so simple that Star Wars is the ideal Roleplaying Game for beginners. Because it's a space-opera, there is an infinite number of scenarios possible.
Defects :
The Character's longevity is very short because the experience system make them too much powerful too quickly. Those Characters become uninteresting and must retire accordingly to the rules which stipulate this fact.
