The Diceless System
We don't know other Roleplaying Games than Amber™ which tried to suppress the random factor from it's rules. However, suppressing dices also suppresses suspense. The system wasn't very convincing. Baldwin created a very good one in 1991 because his systems didn't withdraw strategy. We won't evoke it here because we hope to publish it one day.
Our Opinion
Advantages :
The Diceless System suppresses the annoyance of critical errors. It also ensure that experience is not dependant on a dice roll. A skilled Character remains a skilled Character!
Disadvantages :
By suppressing randomness, the Diceless System deprives Players of the subtle pleasure of throwing dices and of the thrill of the results of rolls. It also deprives the Game Master of the pleasure of taunting a Player who rolled a Critical Error! We hope more efficient Diceless Systems in the future!
